* First, If you're not sure what Kiva is, start here.
This is my monthly shout out to my personal favorite non-profit organization, that helps provide microloans in countries with little opportunity. (They even gave out free loans to friends & family last month!) The repayments on my previous Kiva loans come in the 15th of every month and I decided to use them to make a new loan each month. I also recently started my own lending team, heathers harmony, if you're interested in becoming a kiva lender I'd consider it an honor to have you on my team!
January's loan goes to a young mother in South Sudan named Mary, her profile reads:
Mary is a 24-year-old married woman with three children. Two of her children are in school. She has a business selling charcoal in Kator in South Sudan. She has been in this business for one year.
Mary is requesting a loan through BRAC South Sudan to purchase charcoal. She will use her extra income from this loan to pay the school fees of her children.
I chose Mary because she is only a year younger with me & has three children. There are a lot of older women with children requesting loans but this loan may be able to help her & her children have a better life earlier rather than later.Mary is a 24-year-old married woman with three children. Two of her children are in school. She has a business selling charcoal in Kator in South Sudan. She has been in this business for one year.
Do you have a favorite charity or favorite organization that you participate in? If so I’d love to hear about them below in the comments!
