Saturday Snapshot: Tallinn, Estonia
Myself, Meredith, Kristin, Anne
While living in Russia the other English teachers and myself took a trip from Voronezh, Russia by train to Moscow, then another train to Tallinn, Estonia then through Latvia to Lithuania for a few days and then back to Riga, Latvia where we caught a boat to Sweden for a day and then another boat to Finland where we rode a bus to St. Petersburg and then finally a train back to Voronezh.
Russia was the first country I ever visited outside the United States and I didn’t realize how little European influence there was until I visited Estonia. Which by the name I was expecting something similar to Russia, small country and more Slavic than European but I was totally surprised at how different it really was!
I felt like I was walking through 3D paintings of what I always pictured Europe to be like. I still remember the feeling like it was yesterday, it was one of the moments where I knew I was living my dreams.
